my 1st meme
My retweet-to-1000 social (media) experiment was interesting (last 50 were RTs). Made me really think about the originality of tweets.
NEXT TIME YOU TWEET: just do a quick search w/ keywords of what you were about to say. It’s amazing to see how many other people have probably already tweeted something very similar. TRY IT!
It also made me a little antsy to not be able to say something I wanted to say via Twitter, vs. Facebook or Google+ or Tumblr (which I stopped from auto-feeding). I suppose it made me further realize there are definite differences in what you express on one vs. another - the target audience, etc.
I remember early tweets, wondering if I would even want to join/bother with Twitter and I’m glad that I have. There are definite social media sites I’ve tried and dropped, some I looked at and immediately thought “no” or “why?” or “really? you get stickers?”
Yes, the occasional followbot is weird - though they seem to have abated - and having some stranger follow you makes you wonder why they decided to sign up for you - “What did I just tweet about that made them go, yeah, this guy, mouse-click.”
Of late, twitter.com/ernio has become more part of my overall online presence (persona?) which includes my shiny new website - ernio.com - as well as THIS, my ernio.tumblr.com and/or facebook.com/ernio and my others (gplus.to/ernio, linkedin.com/in/ernio, etc.) which are kinda linkable from each other. (So stalkers now have it easier to keep up with me.) You are welcome.
